1984

Incorporated as a nonprofit

The Caring Community of Connecticut was incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

1985

First homes and day program opened

The organization opened its first residential homes and day program, beginning a long-standing commitment to community-based support.

Four decades

A growing Connecticut presence

Over time, The Caring Community expanded residential and day services to meet behavioral, social, medical, vocational, and community participation needs.

Paid time away

Eligible team members receive paid holidays, 80 hours vacation, 40 hours sick pay, and 16 hours personal time.

Health and wellness

Fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available for eligible employees working at least 30 hours per week.

Retirement options

Benefits include a 403(b) retirement plan and flexible health spending accounts for eligible employees.

Paid training

Fully paid training includes First Aid/CPR, PMT, and Medication Administration certification.
